s. ap architects is a growing architecture office with a hard-working team, working at the intersection of creativity, technology and science.


The founder - architect Arnhildur Pálmadóttir has 20 years of extensive experience in architectural design as well as work experience from engineering firms in Iceland and Norway. At the studio the multilayered nature of each project is investigated and its context to other elements. Regardless of location each project will be affected and have effect in a multitude of ways – socially, environmentally and as part of the timeline. The studio becomes a professional expert for the client when taking on a project. Making sure that all its complex threads run in an efficient way and within the time frame required. Ultimately s. ap architects strive to be thought-provoking, original and have a positive impact on the world.

General architectural design and concept work in different scales – interior, exterior, landscape and planning.

Extended experience of project management in large projects, design management and coordination of all design phases.

Advanced experience in BIM software integration and design for small to large scale projects.About the sap BIM process

Experience in sustainable design and building methods, based on the BREAAM system.

Research and writing including reports for municipalities and the cultural heritage agency of Iceland (Minjastofnun) regarding old Icelandic houses and building traditions.

Teaching and development work related to design, technology and innovation as well as experimenting with microcomputers and programming.

Adventure Park Competition

The competition proposal was purchased

 

Competition for an adventure park in Mosfellsbær.  Our concept was to make an interactive park where guests and natural elements would affect the infrastructure and with that generate energy, collect water and change the form of the man-made structures of the park. Connection to nature was also a big part of the proposal with bird watching houses and a dedicated house for stargazing and Aurora Borealis watching.
