A school design for a new high school in the Got Agulu – Versló school project. The concept idea for the new school is that the footprint of the buildings is based on a radial system where the three different sized circles mark the limits of walls and spaces. The inner circles mark the limit of the private zones for classrooms, kitchen and auditorium. The sizes are based on the analysis and assessment of how many students and staff will be using the new buildings.
This layout makes it easy to make the construction over time, starting with one block of the building and adding more when needed. The shape of each unit is designed to catch rainwater during the rainy season and to release it to a connected network of drainpipes below the buildings running through the whole area. The aim is to make the new construction sustainable and the school area self-sufficient with energy and food.
